Breaths Per Minute offers a convenient solution for monitoring breath rates both in pets and humans. By simplifying the process of measuring breath rate, this app enables users to easily detect and track potential health conditions associated with an elevated breath rate.

The functionality of the app is straightforward - a single tap on the screen per breath cycle triggers automatic calculation of breaths per minute, eliminating the need for additional user input. The built-in timer ensures accuracy by capturing an adequate number of breaths. Historical measurements are automatically recorded for future reference.

Various health conditions, such as heart failure, asthma, lung disease, pain, fever, and poisoning, can manifest through an increased breath rate in pets and humans. Monitoring breath rate plays a crucial role in early detection of these conditions, potentially leading to life-saving interventions. Normal breath rates range from 10-30 breaths per minute for dogs and cats, and 12-20 breaths per minute for humans. Accurate measurements should be taken during rest, preferably while asleep, for at least 30 seconds to obtain reliable results. Active measurements may yield inaccurate readings.

If a pet exhibits a resting breath rate exceeding 30 breaths per minute, consulting a healthcare professional is highly recommended as it could signal a severe health issue.
